The Baltimore Ravens beat the Pittsburgh Steelers (26:6) in Week 2 on Thursday night.
The Ravens didn’t let the situation with their playmate Ray Rice affect their playing. They achieved their first victory in the season led by a quarterback Joe Flacco who made two TD (both for Owen Daniels) and gained 166 yards.
Just three days earlier, a running back Ray Rice was released by the Ravens for family violence because of the video which had appeared in public. Still, the Ravens gave their best and and trashed the Steelers.
Beside Flacco, the best were Bernard Pierce who gained 96 yards and Justin Tucker who scored four field goals.
The Steelers made their points thanks to Shaun Shuisham’s field goals. Roethlisberger made 22 passes for 217 yards and he didn’t make any TD, while Bell went 59 yards and Antonio Brown gained 100 yards.
The Detroit Lions and the Arizona Cardinals achieved the victories over their opponents on Monday evening in NFL.
The Lions, lead by Stafford and Johnson, run New York Giants over (35:14), while the Cardinals beat The San Diego Chargers by late touchdown. (18:17)
Lions started brightly NFL competition and the new coach Jim Caldwell as well. Thanks to two Stafford’s touchdowns early in the game, they were the favorites from the beginning.
The Cardinals tried to make turnover in the 2nd period by Menning’s passings, but The Lions mostly had the possession and they were in advantage in the 3rd period too.
“No excuses. We played very poorly,” Giants coach Tom Coughlin said. “We don’t have a lot to be proud of here. Couldn’t move the ball, couldn’t stop them, turned the ball over, got into that business again. Got a punt blocked, so you name it. It was a nightmare performance.”
Stafford finished the match with 346 yards and 2 touchdowns, while Johnson had 164 yard and 2 touchdowns. Joique Bell was also great with 51 yard and 1 touchdown.
Menning had 163 yards, 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions, while Rashad Jennings 46 yards and 1 touchdown.

The hero of the Cardinals was Carson Palmer with 2 touchdowns in the last period, the second was made two minutes before ending of the match and lead to the victory (18:17)
Palmer had 304 yards and 2 touchdowns, while Michael Floyd had 119 yards, while the passes in end zones were caught by John Brown and Stepfan Taylor.
For the opponent, Rivers made 238 yards, 1 touchdown and 1 interception, Gates made 81 yard, and Malk Floyd 50 yards.
The Royal club beat Sevilla 2-0 and won their 2nd UEFA Super Cup trophy after 2002.
Real Madrid and Sevilla met at Cardiff City Stadium where over 30000 spectators came to watch the match. Although Gareth Bale, one of the key roles of the Champions League finals, played in his hometown, the hero of the match was certainly Portugal captain, Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored twice.
From the beginning, Real Madrid took control of the match and had posession almost the entire game. However, there were no bigger chances for them in the first 20 minutes. The first opportunity was missed by Ronaldo when he left alone in front of the opponent’s goal but Beto reacted quickly.
Los Blancos took the lead in the 30th minute, when Ronaldo scored his first goalassisted by Bale. Four minutes after the beginning of the second half he scored another goal after receiving possession from Benzema.
Sevilla took initiative in the 2nd half and tried to change the result in the last 5 minutes of the match, but without success.
The most noticeable were Ronaldo, Bale, Kroos. Beside Kroos, James Rodriguez made his debut as well and he played 72 minutes when Isco entered the game instead of him. The crowd was giving a large cheer while James was leaving the field.
